Cover Attraction

I know this book has been getting mixed reviews all over but it definitely has one of the best covers I have seen this year.

There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

Another cover that I liked was Ash by Malinda Lo . Found this one on S.Krishna’s blog. The black and white contrast makes it look really intriguing..

In the wake of her father’s death, Ash is left at the mercy of her cruel stepmother. Consumed with grief, her only joy comes by the light of the dying hearth fire, rereading the fairy tales her mother once told her. In her dreams, someday the fairies will steal her away, as they are said to do. When she meets the dark and dangerous fairy Sidhean, she believes that her wish may be granted.

The day that Ash meets Kaisa, the King’s Huntress, her heart begins to change. Instead of chasing fairies, Ash learns to hunt with Kaisa. Though their friendship is as delicate as a new bloom, it reawakens Ash’s capacity for love-and her desire to live. But Sidhean has already claimed Ash for his own, and she must make a choice between fairy tale dreams and true love.

Entrancing, empowering, and romantic, Ash is about the connection between life and love, and solitude and death, where transformation can come from even the deepest grief.

Fallen does have a beautiful cover. And so does Ash – which sadly I didn’t enjoy as much as I was hoping to 😦

  2. Veens says:

  3. Kals says:

BEAUTIFUL covers, though TOTALLY not my genre 😛 Love the new layout too, Shona =)

  4. bermudaonion says:

I agree with you on the Fallen cover. I think part of the appeal is that the model’s body isn’t cropped somewhere.

  5. Nish says:

I like these dark covers. They seem to be quite the fashion after the Twilight craze.

Your new look theme is quite nice, very different from your white one 🙂

  6. Alyce says:

Both of those covers are beautiful! I especially like the first one.

  7. “Fallen” has an absolutely gorgeous cover! Can’t say I’ve read the book, but the cover is definitely one that would make me stop in the bookstore and make me want to pick it up.
